Job summary
Rocket Software is seeking a Principal Sales Engineer to lead technical engagements that migrate mainframe workloads to cloud environments. You will work with Account Executives to grow revenue opportunities and act as the technical sales lead on software opportunities, while collaborating within a dynamic team and independently when needed.

Qualifications
- >=8 years of relevant sales engineering experience.
- >Presales or consulting with mainframe/IBMi focus.
- >Experience with large-scale data migration projects.
- >Knowledge of mainframe and cloud-native databases.
- >Data replication technologies (ETL, CDC) advantageous.
- >Experience migrating workloads from mainframe environments preferred.
- >Security best practices for data across cloud and mainframe.
- >Strong communication and requirements gathering skills.
Responsibilities
- Engage with prospective clients to understand data integration challenges migrating from mainframe to cloud.
- Present and demonstrate software solutions with clear technical benefits.
- Inspire customers with solutions showing real value via database and AI trends.
- Deliver compelling proofs of concepts to showcase competitive advantage.
- Communicate technical details to both non-technical and technical audiences.
- Assist in qualifying opportunities by understanding user requirements and environment.
- Mentor Sales Engineering team members and participate in training.
- Handle objections professionally and progress opportunities assertively.
