Job summary

ENERCON’s Data Center Mission Critical Group is seeking a Principal Engineering Project Manager to join the team. You will lead engineering projects, create detailed proposals, and manage schedules, risk, and financial health, while guiding engineers, designers, and subcontractors to successful outcomes.

You will travel 10–15% of the time and may be based in multiple US locations or remotely. A Bachelor's in Engineering or PMP with 6+ years’ relevant experience is expected, with hyperscale data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR PMP Certification with 10 years of engineering consulting or data center experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a project manager or engineer with an engineering consulting firm doing data center projects.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Ideal candidate has worked with a hyperscale data center directly or indirectly as a consultant.
• Skilled in cost / workhour estimating and proposal development and review.
• Capable of reporting on and managing scope, schedule, and cost for multiple projects executing simultaneously.
• Knowledge in earned value management and progress reporting.
• Experience in contract and non-disclosure agreement language development and review.
• Ability to understand and work with budget and accounting processes.
• Strong coordination and team building skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills.
• Ability to read and write technically and coherently.
• Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams.

• Client & Team Relations: Demonstrate professionalism and dedication, providing exceptional service to both clients and teammates, while fostering positive relationships.
• Project Leadership: Lead projects by collaborating with technical colleagues to develop detailed engineering proposals, managing schedules, and executing recovery plans when needed.
• Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive work plans, risk management strategies, communication plans, and work breakdown structures to ensure smooth project execution.
• Scheduling & Financial Management: Oversee project schedules, apply advanced scheduling tools, and manage the financial health of projects, ensuring timely reporting and performance tracking.
• Team & Resource Management: Manage engineers, designers, and subcontractors, ensuring quality deliverables, while supporting internal standards and resource management.
• Client & Business Development: Maintain strong client relationships, manage project scope, and support marketing efforts, including proposal preparation and identifying new opportunities.
• Contract & Project Oversight: Plan, implement, and supervise client contracts, ensuring successful project execution, while traveling to client facilities as needed.
