Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a senior technology leader to drive the cloud architecture and platform modernization across a remote U.S. footprint. You will guide VMware Cloud Foundation, SDDC operations, automation, and governance, while mentoring engineers and ensuring 24/7 reliability.

You will collaborate with DevOps, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure cloud services, optimize costs, and evolve the platform architecture in a fast paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and extensive cloud leadership experience or equivalent
• Experience steering VMware Cloud Foundation and SDDC initiatives
• Strong background in IaC, automation, security and governance

Responsibilities

• Define and implement cloud architecture strategy aligned with business goals
• Provide technical leadership for cloud infrastructure projects and best practices
• Lead end-to-end cloud projects coordinating with engineering, DevOps, security and operations
• Develop cost optimization strategies and ensure resource efficiency
• Create and maintain architectural documentation and standards
• Provide 24/7 on-call support and mentorship to cloud engineers
