Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a highly skilled senior VMware VCF engineer to join the cloud infrastructure operations team. The role focuses on designing, implementing and managing VMware-based infrastructure with an emphasis on scalability, performance and reliability.

The successful candidate will lead projects, provide technical mentorship, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VMware VCF with existing systems while maintaining security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, implementing and managing VMware-based infrastructure solutions.
• Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and its components (vSphere, NSX, vSAN, SDDC Manager).
• Strong scripting/automation using PowerShell, Python and/or Ansible.
• Familiarity with IaC frameworks like Terraform is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Consultation and technical direction for bank infrastructure.
• Lead technical projects and guide task execution to meet objectives.
• Maintain and operate VMware VCF solutions at scale across infrastructure.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline deployment and management tasks.
• Provide senior-level guidance and mentorship to team members.
