Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead VMware Cloud Foundation initiatives across multiple markets in the United States. You will own cloud architecture, automation, lifecycle management, and operational excellence, guiding vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria Suite and SDDC modernization.

You will mentor cloud engineers, define strategic roadmaps, cost optimization, and ensure security and compliance as part of enterprise private cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 10+ years in hands-on cloud leadership.
• Alternative: High School Diploma/GED with 14+ years of hands-on senior leadership in cloud.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement overall cloud architecture and strategy.
• Lead end-to-end cloud projects with cross-functional teams.
• Develop cost-optimization strategies for cloud resources.
• Mentor cloud engineers and provide 24/7 on-call support as needed.
• Maintain high-quality documentation and architectural diagrams.
