Job summary

Kin Insurance seeks a Pricing & Risk Analyst to help identify profitable state growth opportunities and segment insights. You’ll transform policy, quote, and claims data into actionable pricing recommendations, using AI-enabled tools and automation.

Entry-level role with strong learning potential and guidance from senior analysts. You’ll collaborate with state managers and business partners to explore data, perform analyses, and support growth initiatives while building knowledge of insurance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns, investigate questions, and explain findings.
• Hands-on experience using AI for analytical or coding tasks and willingness to use Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, quote-to-bind conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience.
• Investigate what drives changes in results across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution channels.
• Evaluate how rate changes, underwriting rules, and business mix shifts affect growth and profitability.
• Build and maintain competitive research informing state comparisons and pricing opportunities.
• Use Databricks Genie to explore data and Claude Code to write SQL queries and automate reports.
• Bring data and business context into analytical workflows via MCP connections.
• Validate data, calculations, and AI outputs; document sources and assumptions.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries for Pricing and Risk and partner teams.
