Job summary

Kin Insurance in the United States seeks a Pricing & Risk Analyst to grow profitability state by state and segment by segment. You will work with state managers and partners to translate policy, quote, and claims data into actionable pricing insights.

This entry-level role is on Kin's Pricing and Risk Management team, with mentorship as you learn insurance metrics, pricing, segmentation, and state performance. Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and AI tools will be built through practical projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, finance, business, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns, investigate questions, and explain findings.
• Hands-on experience using AI for analytical or coding tasks and willingness to use Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.
• Ability to explain findings clearly, stay curious, and manage assignments with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, quote-to-bind conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how proposed rate changes and underwriting rules could affect growth and profitability.
• Use Databricks Genie to explore data and Claude Code to write SQL queries and automate recurring reports.
