Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking a Pricing & Risk Analyst to help identify profitable state-by-state growth opportunities. This entry-level role collaborates with state managers to convert policy, quote, and claims data into actionable pricing insights and risk assessments.

You will use Databricks Genie, Claude Code, and MCP-enabled workflows to explore data, automate recurring tasks, and build analytical scripts while learning insurance metrics, pricing, segmentation, and state performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative field.
• Foundational SQL skills; proficiency with Excel or similar tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns and explain findings.
• Hands-on experience using AI for analytics and willingness to use Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.
• Ability to explain findings clearly, stay curious, and manage assignments with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own state performance reporting on quote volume, conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how pricing and underwriting changes could affect growth and profitability.
• Use Databricks Genie and Claude Code to write queries, automate reports, and document findings.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries for Pricing and Risk and partner teams.
• Measure performance after pricing and product changes go live.
