Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking a Pricing & Risk Analyst to help identify profitable growth opportunities across states and segments. You will convert policy, quote, and claims data into actionable recommendations and partner with state managers to drive pricing strategies.

This entry-level role emphasizes learning how analytics shape real pricing decisions. You’ll work with Databricks Genie, Claude Code, and MCP-enabled workflows to automate recurring work and deepen your insurance analytics knowledge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns, investigate questions, and explain findings.
• Hands-on experience using AI for analytical tasks; willingness to use Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.
• Ability to explain findings in plain language and manage assignments with guidance.
• Internships, coursework, and analytical projects count.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, conversions, new business, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk, coverage, and distribution channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how rate changes and underwriting rules could affect growth and profitability.
• Use Databricks Genie and Claude Code to explore data, write SQL, automate reports, and document findings.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries for Pricing and Risk and partner teams.
• Measure performance after pricing, underwriting, and product changes go live.
• Develop recommendations with experienced colleagues and take ownership of meaningful work.
