Kin Insurance seeks a Pricing & Risk Analyst to join the Pricing and Risk Management team. The role focuses on state growth and segmentation, converting policy, quote, and claims data into practical recommendations.

You’ll learn insurance metrics and contribute to profitability while working with Databricks Genie, Claude Code, and MCP-enabled workflows. This entry-level position is ideal for curious, detail-oriented analysts who want to grow into pricing decisions that impact Kin’s profitability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, finance, business, computer science, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns, investigate questions, and explain findings.
• Hands-on experience using AI for analytical or coding tasks, and willingness to use Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.
• Ability to explain findings in plain language and manage assignments with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, quote-to-bind conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how proposed rate changes, underwriting rules, and shifts in business mix could affect growth and profitability.
• Use Databricks Genie to explore data and Claude Code to write SQL queries and automation scripts.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries for Pricing and Risk and partner teams; measure performance after changes go live.
