Kin Insurance is seeking a Pricing & Risk Analyst to help identify profitable growth opportunities state by state and segment by segment. You will partner with state managers to translate policy and claims data into actionable pricing recommendations.

The role is entry-level and designed for curious, detail-oriented individuals who want to learn how analytics drive real pricing and risk decisions. You’ll work with Databricks Genie and Claude Code on approved MCP connections to streamline

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns and explain findings.
• Hands-on experience using AI for analytical tasks (academic or personal projects).
• Ability to explain findings in plain language and manage assignments with guidance.
• Internships, coursework, and analytical projects count.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting: quote volume, quote-to-bind, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance by geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how rate changes, underwriting rules, and business mix affect growth and profitability.
• Use Databricks Genie to explore data and Claude Code to write SQL queries and automate reports.
• Deliver clear charts and concise summaries to Pricing and Risk and partner teams.
• Measure performance after pricing, underwriting, and product changes go live.
