Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking a Pricing & Risk Analyst to help grow profitability by analyzing state performance, pricing, and risk across segments. You’ll work with Databricks Genie, Claude Code, and MCP-enabled workflows to turn policy data into actionable insights.

This entry-level role offers exposure to insurance metrics, segmentation, and state performance, with mentorship from experienced peers and opportunities to contribute to Kin’s growth and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, finance, business, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational SQL skills and proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Experience analyzing data to identify patterns, investigate questions, and explain findings.
• Willingness to use Claude Code, Databricks Genie, and MCP-enabled workflows.
• Attention to detail and the judgment to question and verify AI-generated results.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring state performance reporting on quote volume, quote-to-bind conversion, new business, premium, retention, and loss experience.
• Analyze performance across geography, risk characteristics, coverage, and distribution channels to surface growth opportunities.
• Evaluate how proposed rate changes, underwriting rules, and shifts in business mix could affect growth and profitability.
• Build and maintain competitive research that informs state comparisons and pricing opportunities.
• Use Databricks Genie to explore data, and Claude Code to write SQL queries and automate reports.
