Job summary

Intermountain Health in Colorado is seeking a part-time, fully remote Scheduling Specialist to pre-register patients for appointments and procedures across Peaks Regional Office. You will use several scheduling systems, handle high call volumes, collect and verify patient data, and validate insurance details.

This PRN role requires strong computer skills, insurance validation, active listening, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 4 years revenue cycle experience.
• 2+ years revenue cycle experience and/or 2+ years of contact center experience.
• Strong computer skills and ability to handle high call volumes.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and pre-registers patients for appointments, outpatient visits, procedures, and other appointments captured by the department.
• Transcribe external orders from physicians.
• Handle high call volumes for multiple locations and departments.
• Utilize multiple systems to perform scheduling functions as needed.
• Provide patients with preparation and location information.
• Correctly collect and input patient data into the system.
• Validate patient insurance and explain benefits as needed.
• Manage multiple phone calls, including answering, transferring, and conferencing.
• Act as a mentor for new hires as needed.
• Promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
