Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify, develop and present new cost savings opportunities for Sentara Health Plan. You will analyze data insights, leverage policy knowledge, and gather input from subject matter experts to drive savings delivery.

The role involves evaluating internal payment policies, proposing strategies such as policy development, enrollment criteria, contract strategy and claims editing, while building strong relationships

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Bachelor Level Degree (Preferred)
• 3 years Health plan experience or 3 years Medical coding, required
• 3 years Health plan claim auditing or appeals, preferred
• BS/BA/Advanced degree in health care or medical field preferred

Responsibilities

• Research internal payment policies and solutions to identify cost savings opportunities.
• Determine strategies to achieve savings: policy development, authorization criteria, contract strategy, claims editing, etc.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to define and deliver payment initiatives in support of health plan goals
