Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify, develop and present cost-saving opportunities in policy-related medical costs for Sentara Health Plan. The role analyzes data, leverages tools and engages subject matter experts to drive savings through policy development, reimbursement criteria, and related initiatives.

You will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to define and deliver payment initiatives aligned with SHP goals

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years health plan experience or 3 years medical coding required.
• 3 years health plan claim auditing or appeals preferred.
• BS/BA/Advanced degree in health care or medical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and present new cost savings opportunities in policy-related medical costs.
• Assess opportunities using data, policies, industry trends and SME input across SHP.
• Develop strategies such as policy development, authorization criteria, contract strategy and claims editing.
