Job summary

Sentara Health seeks a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify, develop, and present cost-saving opportunities for Sentara Health Plan. You will base assessments on data insights, industry trends, and SME input across SHP and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive savings through policy changes.

The role requires research into internal payment policies, experience with health plan data, and the ability to communicate complex findings in writing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Bachelor Level Degree (Preferred)
• 3 years Health plan experience or 3 years Medical coding, required
• 3 years Health plan claim auditing or appeals, preferred
• BS/BA/Advanced degree in health care or medical field preferred

Responsibilities

• Research & assessment of internal payment policies & payment solutions to identify cost savings
• Determine strategies to achieve identified cost savings such as policy development, authorization criteria, or contract strategy
• Establish relationships with internal & external stakeholders to define, align & deliver payment initiatives & policy development
