Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify and present new policy-related medical cost savings opportunities for Sentara Health Plan. You will assess opportunities using data insights, policies, industry trends, and input from subject matter experts across SHP, delivering savings through deployment.

The role requires managing multiple projects, strong analytical skills, and experience with reimbursement policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor degree preferred; healthcare or medical field preferred.
• 3 years health plan experience or 3 years medical coding required.

Responsibilities

• Research and assess internal payment policies and solutions to identify cost savings opportunities.
• Determine strategies to achieve identified cost savings such as policy development, authorization criteria, process, contract strategy, claims editing and more.
• Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to define, align and deliver payment initiatives and new/enhanced policy development.
