Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform in Palo Alto to own backend systems behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics. You will work across iOS, Android, web, and APIs to ensure reliable, scalable services for millions of users.

The role emphasizes design quality, automation, and cross-team collaboration. You’ll collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend architecture ahead of where the product is going, with an emphasis on reliability and scalability in

Qualifications

Backend experience in TS/Node is required.
Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud platforms.
Experience with cloud providers (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
Willingness to share ownership and hand off work when appropriate.
Experience with AI agents and automation in daily workflows.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics.
Improve services to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
Ensure correctness and verifiability of changes before shipping.
Automate repetitive parts of the role to free time for higher-impact work.
Turn one-off work into repeatable patterns for the team.
Design B2B and enterprise integrations on top of Speechify.
Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend ahead.
