Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer for its Platform in Kirkland, WA. You will own backend services behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics for millions of users across iOS, Android, web, and extensions.

You will design scalable systems, deploy containerized services, and collaborate with product and UX teams to push platform capabilities forward while maintaining reliability and global uptime.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services in TypeScript/Node.js
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud services
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Ability to design scalable, reliable systems and understand observability
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and deployment pipelines

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own backend services for payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics
• Improve performance, reliability, and cost of platform components
• Validate changes with runbooks, tests, and monitoring before ship
• Automate repetitive tasks and drive to reusable solutions
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to evolve backend architecture
• Create B2B and enterprise integrations and ensure uptime across services
• Work with cross-functional teams to keep platform ahead of product needs
