Job summary

Speechify in Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to design and own the backend that powers payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS APIs across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and Web.

You will collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep the backend architecture ahead of where the product is going, while delivering reliable, scalable systems at scale.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with GCP; working knowledge of AWS or Azure.
• Willingness to share work you used to own and show impact.
• Ability to describe daily AI-agent tooling and monitoring.
• Strong focus on logs, data state, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and our public TTS API.
• Improve services to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Validate changes before shipping and ensure correctness after deployment.
• Automate repetitive parts of the role to free up time for higher impact work.
• Turn code and learnings into reusable patterns for the team.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers building on us.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend ahead of product direction.
