Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Physician Coder for our Physician Billing Office in Jacksonville, FL. This full-time, day-shift role focuses on accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT coding across services, with emphasis on E/M coding and outpatient procedures.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of clinical documentation and physician coding experience, along with CPC or CCS-P credentials. This remote position requires working from approved states including GA.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Clinical Documentation experience required.
• 1–2 years of E/M coding experience required.
• 1–2 years of physician coding experience (CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS) required.
• 1–2 years of outpatient procedural coding experience required.
• 1–2 years of minor outpatient and office procedure coding experience required.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Perform E/M coding across applicable places of service.
• Code minor office procedures, outpatient testing, and minor surgeries.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with guidelines and regulations.
• Review medical records to support code assignment and billing.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or documentation issues.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
