Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for a fully remote role handling prior authorization requests from prescribers in a call center setting. The position is Contract to Hire and based out of Eagan, MN, with 8-hour shifts from 7:15am CST to 9pm CST, five days per week.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED, state licensure, and national certification (PTCB or NHA) with 1+ year of retail or call center pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• State registration/license is required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA) is required.
• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting outcomes and communicating coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.
• Escalate complex requests to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.
