Job summary

Actalent is hiring 100% remote pharmacy technicians to review prior authorizations for a healthcare insurance department. You will approve or deny authorizations and route some cases to a pharmacist for final review, handling all health plans and medications.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, data entry, and HIPAA compliance in a fully remote setting. Qualified candidates will have 2+ years as a Pharmacy Technician, experience with Prior Authorization, and the ability to work

Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years as a Pharmacy Technician.
Experience handling Prior Authorizations.
Strong customer service skills and computer proficiency.
Ability to work remotely and independently with HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

Review prior authorizations for determination for a department of a health insurance company.
Approve or deny authorizations and send some to pharmacist for final review.
Handle all health plans and medication types.
Process prescription exceptions and resolve claim rejects.
Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system.
Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and escalated member issues.
Escalate questions regarding prescriptions to a pharmacist for interpretation.
Assist with inbound and outbound patient or physician calls.
