Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a 100% remote contract role. The position supports evaluation and approval of pharmacy requests, communication with physicians and staff, and escalation for complex cases.

Based nationwide; schedule includes 8-hour shifts during CST business hours. Requirements include a high school diploma, state license, and National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA), with 1+ year experience in retail or call center pharmacy settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• State registration/license.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB or NHA).
• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting prior authorization outcomes and communicating pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.
• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.
