Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Fully Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician to evaluate and authorize prior authorization requests from prescribers using clinical criteria. The role supports communication of coverage and formulary alternatives in a call center setting.

Responsibilities include determining med appropriateness, communicating decisions to physicians and staff, and escalating complex cases to a pharmacist.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• State registration/license.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA).
• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting outcomes and communicating benefits coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians and pharmacists.
• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following guidelines.
