Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 to support distribution of medications and related tasks in a hospital setting. The role involves independent work in a specialized area and assistance with pharmaceutical care under supervision.

Responsibilities include entering orders, labeling accuracy, inventory management, and patient medication delivery. The position requires HS diploma/GED and 1 year of experience, with TX Board of Pharmacy registrations as applicable.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of Pharmacy Care modalities, terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, terminology, drug use and aseptic techniques, standards and equipment.
• Knowledge of labeling and dispensing procedures for prescription medications.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions and flow chart protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a specialized area of responsibility including purchasing, receiving, auditing, compounding, billing, informatics, medication reconciliation, licensing, contracting and marketing.
• Enter medication orders from doctors' sheets or prescriptions and fill according to the label.
• Enter correct billing data and ensure proper charges are captured.
• Assist in inventory control, stocking, cleaning and shelving of prescription and OTC items.
• Prepare IV admixtures using aseptic technique as required.
• Deliver medications to patients and transport carts to floors daily.
