Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support dispensing and related tasks in a hospital setting. You will enter orders, ensure accuracy in dispensing, and help manage pharmacy operations including inventories and recalls.

The role emphasizes adherence to policies, quality patient care, and teamwork with pharmacists and staff. Qualifications include a HS diploma and TX Board certification requirements for technicians, with 1 year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Pharmacy Technician (PHT) or Pharmacy Intern (RPH-INT) certification as required by the TX Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions and flow chart protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a specialized area and assists in pharmaceutical care.
• Enter medication orders from doctors' sheets or prescriptions and ensure correct dispensing.
• Complete paperwork to ensure payment for and delivery of pharmacy supplies; monitor lost charges.
• Order supplies daily and coordinate returns for credit when pharmaceuticals expire.
• Coordinate the Drug Recall Process.
• Perform IV admixtures using aseptic techniques under supervision and maintain a clean, stocked work area.
