Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 to help distribute medications and support pharmaceutical care. The role supports a specialized area, independent work, and collaboration with pharmacists.

Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, maintaining formulary accuracy, and ensuring proper inventory, billing, and drug recalls while maintaining a clean, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• EXPERIENCE - 1 Year of Experience
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -

Responsibilities

• Enter medication orders from doctors’ sheets or prescriptions. Fill according to the label, ensuring the correct product is dispensed.
• Ensure the dosage form and charge quantity match the formulary. Enter correct billing data as required.
• Completes and files appropriate paperwork to ensure payment for and delivery of pharmacy supplies. Monitors lost charges.
• Orders supplies daily and coordinates returns for credit when pharmaceuticals have expired.
• Coordinates the Drug Recall Process.
• Helps maintain a clean, orderly, and fully stocked work environment under established policies and procedures.
• Performs inventory control: stocking, cleaning, and facing prescription and OTC shelves.
• Compounds or admixes ingredients under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
• Perform IV admixtures using aseptic techniques and in compliance with regulatory standards as required.
• Helps patients and medical staff with nonjudgmental questions under a pharmacist preceptor's supervision.
• Delivers medication to patients, and delivers delivery carts to floors daily.
