Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Prior Authorization Technician for a fully remote position supporting a national healthcare client. The role handles inbound calls from members, providers, and professionals, reviews clinical documentation, and records authorization determinations. Escalations to a pharmacist are part of the workflow.

Requirements include 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience and strong communication skills. Training is provided; occasional OT may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience
• Minimum 1 year of high-volume customer service or call center experience
• Pharmacy terminology and prior authorization workflows knowledge
• Pharmacy Technician certification preferred but not required; Pharm Tech Trainee acceptable

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of inbound calls from members, providers, and healthcare professionals
• Provide professional customer service while guiding callers through prior authorization process
• Review clinical documentation for completeness and adherence to criteria
• Document approvals, denials, and case information accurately
• Transfer clinical questions to a pharmacist for evaluation
• Maintain documentation and comply with regulatory requirements
