Job summary

Medix is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician for a fully remote role with a national health plan. It is a full-time position with immediate hiring and a supportive team culture focused on the right fit for members.

Day-to-day duties include managing prior authorization requests, collecting information, and coordinating with pharmacists and physicians to ensure timely decisions while complying with regulations. Salary ranges and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted National Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT).
• 1+ years of work experience in a pharmacy-related field.
• Strong verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions.
• Excellent customer service, phone etiquette, and typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Use tools to determine eligibility, screen for required documents, create, process, and properly track pharmacy prior authorization requests.
• Prepare, organize, and distribute pharmacy prior authorization requests for review by pharmacist/physician and respond to requests for additional information.
• Collect relevant medical information via telephone, fax, and portal and apply the appropriate PA criteria with documentation of communication and decision making.
• Meet required decision-making timeframes and escalate cases requiring pharmacist review.
• Communicate oral and written prior authorization outcomes that comply with timeliness, content, and accuracy standards.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
