Job summary

Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. is seeking a Sales Training Manager to design, develop and deliver high-impact training for our Commercial field sales team.

You will help onboard new hires, advance tenured reps, and support NSMs andPOA initiatives, balancing instructional design with hands-on facilitation in virtual and in-person settings. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in biotech/pharma and 4+ years in the industry, plus at least 3 years of field sales experience and 1 year in a trainer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biotech/pharma with at least 4 years of relevant experience
• Minimum of 3 years of field sales experience
• Minimum of 1 year in a field trainer, sales training, or equivalent role
• Experience supporting onboarding and sales capability development

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver training curricula for new hire onboarding (Phase 1 and Phase 2) including product knowledge, disease state education, selling skills, business acumen, and market access
• Lead end-to-end facilitation of New Hire Training (NHT), ensuring readiness, certification, and alignment to field expectations
• Develop and deliver training content for POA and National Sales Meetings, and other learning initiatives
• Incorporate adult learning principles, experiential learning, and capability-based frameworks to drive measurable outcomes
• Collaborate with Marketing, Market Access, Sales Leadership, and PRC partners to ensure accuracy, alignment, and approval of training materials
• Partner with Field Trainers and First Line Sales Leaders to reinforce training in the field and support ongoing capability development
• Contribute to strategic learning initiatives tied to product launches, brand priorities, and commercial excellence programs
