Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Manager for its Personal Lines Underwriting team. You will supervise underwriting staff to drive growth, profitability, and risk management across personal lines.

Under limited supervision, you will approve complex risks, develop staff, maintain agency relationships, and partner with field marketing to resolve service issues. Hybrid or remote work options are available to enable flexible leadership across states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, 3–6 years underwriting experience.
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Ability to drive team results through coaching and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personal lines underwriting staff to drive growth and profitability.
• Review complex inquiries and approve risks beyond staff authority.
• Maintain agency relationships and coordinate with field marketing.
