Job summary

TopDog Law is seeking a legal professional to support personal injury pre-litigation matters in New York. You will assist attorneys and claims specialists, organize records, summarize evidence, and help prepare filings and demand packages.

Ideal candidates have 2–6 years of NY pre-litigation experience, strong organization, and the ability to manage high-volume caseloads while communicating clearly with clients, insurers, and treating providers. Remote work option with NY-based coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–6 years of experience supporting Personal Injury pre-litigation in NY.
• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Ability to manage high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience reviewing medical records and bills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Familiarity with Personal Injury claims processes and insurance procedures.
• Experience with case management software (Filevine, Clio, SmartAdvocate).

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys and claims verification specialists in reviewing and assessing merits of Personal Injury claims by organizing, reviewing, and summarizing records and evidence.
• Investigate cases to determine compensability and viable claims.
• Investigate premises ownership and control to identify proper defendants and preserve evidence.
• Communicate with insurance adjusters regarding no-fault and liability claims and follow up on coverage determinations.
• Prepare and file no-fault applications and MVIAC applications.
• Assist clients with medical referrals and coordinate with treating providers.
• Prepare and file retainer statements and closing statements with NYS rules.
• Support development of claims from intake through pre-suit resolution with complete case files.
• Prepare demand packages with medical summaries, billing summaries, liability documentation, and supporting evidence.
• Serve as primary contact for clients during pre-litigation, providing updates and explanations.
• Communicate with insurance carriers to confirm coverage and track claim status.
• Maintain organized electronic case files and update case management systems.
• Uphold professional ethics and compliance with all rules and policies.
