Job summary

RI International is seeking a Peer Support Specialist I to provide recovery-oriented support at the Crisis - Franklin County Crisis Care Center in Columbus, OH. The role helps individuals on their recovery journey, advocating for their needs and rights and fostering a supportive environment.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, temporary up to 12 weeks, with a starting pay of $19.00 per hour. Training and certifications are required to perform duties effectively and compliantly.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to teach/train recovery information and recovery tools.
• Effective communication skills.
• Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership and identify participant goals and desired solutions.
• Teach recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Model hope, personal responsibility, and self-advocacy to meet recovery goals.
• Assist in developing natural supports and community living.
• Coordinate with the clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources.
