Job summary

RI International seeks a Peer Support Specialist I for a temporary up to 12-week assignment at the Franklin County Crisis Care Center in Columbus, Ohio. The role operates on a rotating 7:00PM–7:30AM schedule and pays $19.00 per hour.

You will provide peer support, recovery training, and advocacy to individuals in recovery, while coordinating with the clinical team and maintaining documentation. The position emphasizes lived experience with MH/SUD, required Peer Support certification, and the

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Peer Employment Training with certification as a Peer Support Specialist.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use services.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to teach recovery information and recovery tools.
• Effective communication skills.
• Must pass de-escalation training per state requirements.
• Driving if required must meet policy; non-driver attestation may be signed.
• Must be at least 18 years old unless state law differs.
• Travel may be required based on business need.
• Maintain confidentiality (HIPAA) and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Guest care & advocacy to engage individuals in a recovery partnership.
• Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Models hope, responsibility and self-advocacy to meet recovery goals.
• Assists in developing natural supports and community living.
• Coordinates with clinical teams to arrange services.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Completes required clinical documentation.
