Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Lead Tax Processor to own the most complex payroll tax escalations and governance of SOPs. You will serve as the primary go-to expert for TP1-TP3 staff and drive workforce capability through coaching and structured routines.

The role requires deep experience in payroll tax and multi-state filings, with a focus on accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement. Expect flexible hours with overtime eligibility and a strong emphasis on compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years payroll tax experience with complex defect resolution and multi-state filings.
• Experience as lead, senior specialist, or SME with coaching junior staff.
• Expert knowledge of US payroll tax regulations including local taxes (PA, OH) and state programs (PFML, SDI).
• Advanced writing skills to create, review, and approve SOPs and technical documents for a tax processor audience.
• Demonstrated ownership of SLAs and proactive resolution of workflow barriers.
• 5+ years handling highly sensitive escalations with minimal leadership guidance.
• 4+ years in contact center, customer service, or back-office operations.
• Comfort with leveraging AI tools to improve daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary real-time technical expert for TP1, TP2, and TP3 staff.
• Own authoring, review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles across core operations.
• Conduct structured coaching sessions at least quarterly using SBIC feedback model.
• Lead or support team huddles, QA sessions, and daily stand-ups when needed.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; advise staffing with the M1 manager.
• Resolve severe state and federal payroll tax notices, including IRS discrepancies.
• Approve amended Federal (941-X, W-2c) and State returns with audit trails.
• Identify trends and compliance risks; report findings with data-driven recommendations.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings and provide risk-informed options.
