Job summary

Intuit Inc. is seeking a Lead Tax Processor and Subject Matter Expert to drive complex payroll tax initiatives and governance over SOPs. You will own and resolve the most challenging escalations, coach teammates, and ensure workforce capacity through structured routines.

This hybrid, leadership role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and proactive problem-solving while leveraging AI tools to improve daily workflows and operational outcomes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with complex tax defect resolution and multi-state filings.
• Experience as a lead, senior specialist, or SME with mentoring or training junior staff.
• Advanced writing skills for SOPs and technical documents.
• Experience handling highly sensitive escalations with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary real-time technical expert for TP1, TP2, TP3 staff.
• Author, review, and approve SOPs and KB articles.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions using SBIC model.
• Lead team huddles and stand-ups when needed.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; advise staffing.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices and amend filings.
• Identify trends and risks; communicate with stakeholders.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings with compliance focus.
