Job summary

The Heritage Group in the United States is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support day-to-day payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees. The role is remote with occasional in-office time, and candidates must live within 75 miles of Indianapolis, IN.

You'll manage data entry, audits, tax reports, direct deposits, garnishments, and benefits deductions in Workday, while upholding confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years payroll processing experience.
• Experience with Workday payroll module.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in a union payroll environment preferred.
• Experience with AI tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain payroll accuracy; audit and finalize hourly and salary payroll.
• Process tax reports, garnishments, child support, and union payments.
• Manage payroll data entry, 3rd party files, and system updates in Workday.
• Handle pay cards/direct deposits and new hire/termination data."
• Process earnings and deduction upload files (bonuses, seed money, gift cards, etc).
• Respond to employee wage verification requests and audit requests.
• Maintain payroll data integrity and confidentiality; collaborate with HRSS teams.
