LHH is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage accurate and timely payroll for 500–700 employees across multiple states. The role requires hands-on Workday payroll expertise and the ability to handle hourly, salaried, and union payroll populations.

This temp-to-hire position emphasizes compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax rules, as well as meticulous data accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for 500–700 employees across multiple states.
• Manage payroll for hourly, salaried, and union employees.
• Utilize Workday to process payroll and maintain employee payroll data.
• Review timekeeping records, pay changes, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related transactions.
• Calculate and process overtime, bonuses, commissions, garnishments, and other payroll adjustments.
• Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax requirements.
• Process requirements for union payroll, including deductions and provisions.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and system-related issues.
• Complete payroll reconciliations and review payroll reports prior to processing.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, Benefits, and other teams for accurate payroll data.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and payroll reporting.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and protect confidential employee information.
