Job summary

USIC is seeking a Sr. Payroll Specialist in Indianapolis, IN, with a hybrid schedule offering 2 days of work-from-home weekly. The role focuses on accurate payroll processing, audits, and system improvements within the Payroll Department.

This position serves as a subject matter expert and collaborates across HR and IT to optimize payroll operations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business/HR and at least 3 years of payroll experience, including multistate environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or HR preferred.
• 3+ years' experience with payroll processing required.
• Proficient knowledge of multistate payroll and Workday.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly multistate payroll using Workday.
• Audit and batch input payroll adjustments and off-cycle runs.
• Address payroll impacting issues and escalate as needed.
• Triage Zendesk tickets to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain data quality and assist with system integrations.
• Prepare payroll audits and year-end adjustments; backup for supervisor.
