Aston Carter is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a fully remote role focused on accurate, timely processing of multiple payrolls across states. You will support onboarding, maintain payroll records, and ensure regulatory compliance in a dynamic payroll team.

The role emphasizes end-to-end payroll, complex adjustments, and government filings, with a competitive hourly pay range and comprehensive benefits for eligible temporary staff.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of payroll experience and strong end-to-end payroll processing.
• Experience in multi-state payroll with regulatory compliance across states.
• Ability to manage weekly/biweekly payroll cycles for multiple groups.
• Proficient in handling complex payroll adjustments (garnishments, deductions, bonuses).
• Experience filing monthly, quarterly, and yearly government payroll reports and forms.

Responsibilities

• Process and own multiple payrolls (weekly/biweekly) with accuracy and compliance.
• Print and distribute payroll checks and manage related documentation.
• Enter payroll adjustments such as garnishments, deductions, bonuses, and advances accurately.
• Process supplemental checks and tax-related payments.
• Handle monthly health/dental insurance billings and integration with payroll records.
• Assist with new hire onboarding including payroll setup and timekeeping enrollment.
• Maintain payroll records, filings, and reports for audit readiness.
• Prepare and file government forms on a timely basis (monthly/quarterly/annual).
• Manage IRS and state tax checks for multi-state operations.
• Support automated timekeeping and weekly pay-change tasks.
