Job summary

Bitdefender is hiring a payroll-focused finance professional for a fully remote role. You’ll own core payroll operations, support HR tasks, and collaborate with the Finance team while remaining flexible for broader responsibilities.

The position requires 3+ years in payroll and proficiency with major payroll platforms, with CPP being a plus. The role is aligned to East Coast business hours; strong Excel skills, data accuracy, and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; equivalent postsecondary education considered.
• 3+ years processing payroll for 100+ employees on a major payroll platform.
• CPP certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Payroll processing: enter, maintain, and process payroll data including hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, time worked, PTO, deductions, withholdings, and employee information updates.
• Ensure accurate processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
• Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
• Issue or reissue checks and direct deposits to resolve payroll errors or process final pay.
• Generate records and process federal and state payroll tax deposits and reports.
• Support to HR — onboarding and offboarding, maintain records, benefits administration, and serve as first point of contact.
• Excel & reporting — build and maintain advanced Excel models and reports (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) to support payroll accuracy.
• Beyond payroll — assist across Finance and Accounting and take on additional projects as they come up.
• Preference to candidates with AP, expense reports, G/L entries, fixed assets experience.
