Job summary

LER TechForce, LLC. is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to own the payroll process end-to-end and administer benefits. This role focuses on accuracy, compliance, and timely payments for a multi-state workforce with international payroll support through Deel.

You will validate payroll before funds move, investigate variances, and implement root-cause fixes. The position is mostly remote with occasional trips to our Columbus, IN office within a 2-hour radius.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience across multiple states and pay groups.
• Benefits administration experience, including open enrollment.
• Hands-on Workday experience; Deel or other international payroll platforms a plus.
• Strong Excel data extraction, analysis, and reporting abilities.
• Detail-oriented, with a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Run the full payroll cycle from start to finish, including time collection, deductions, validation, approval, and payment.
• Process multi-state payroll across several pay groups; support international payroll via Deel.
• Manage ACH and direct deposit payments, verifying accuracy before funds release.
• Resolve payment exceptions quickly and investigate variances before processing.
• Administer benefits programs and lead open enrollment events.
