Job summary

Raintree Systems, Inc. is hiring a Payment Reconciliation Specialist for a fully remote role in the United States. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of medical insurance posting experience and knowledge of payer contracts and government reimbursement rules.

You will handle deposits, posting, and follow-ups with accuracy, participate in month-end closing, and work with billing software including Raintree Systems to ensure timely cash flows.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of medical insurance posting experience.
• Knowledge of payer contracts and government reimbursement rules.
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word and Google applications.
• Skilled in payment posting with an understanding of A/R follow-up.
• Knowledge of insurance and reimbursement policies.
• Experience with medical billing software; Raintree Systems a plus.
• Strong math and accounting fundamentals.
• Proactive, AI-fluent to identify efficiency gains.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain logs and spreadsheets used for reconciliation.
• Review, investigate and reconcile deposits and supporting documentation for accurate posting.
• Investigate, research, and resolve outstanding deposits; contact clients and payers for information.
• Identify and research information to clear posting errors and follow-ups.
• Participate in month-end closing.
• Retrieve and post remittances from payor websites when needed.
• Research unidentified payments or recoupment to determine resolution.
• Identify patterns that indicate issues and notify leads or supervisors.
• Assist clients by answering inquiries and providing information.
• Reconcile daily cash deposits to the billing system and bank.
• Take on special projects as assigned.
