Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify, develop and present new policy-related medical cost savings opportunities for SHP. You will assess opportunities via data insights and input from subject matter experts across Sentara Health Plan.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver cost-saving payment initiatives and policy development aligned with health plan goals, influencing leadership to adopt new ideas and products.

Qualifications

• Experience presenting, collaborating & consulting with a variety of stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects & meeting tight delivery timelines.
• Innovative thinker in a growth environment.
• Intermediate computer skills with Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Research and assess internal payment policies to identify new cost savings opportunities.
• Determine strategies to achieve identified cost savings such as policy development, authorization criteria, process, contracts, claims editing.
• Participate in analytic and fact-finding work to support opportunity development.
• Establish relationships with stakeholders to define and deliver payment initiatives and policy development.
• Influence leadership to adopt new ideas and products.
