Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Patient Service Representative to support patient inquiries across phone, online messaging, and records. This remote-friendly role is based in Massachusetts with on-site training at Norwood, MA, 1177 Boston Providence, Norwood.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm EST, with occasional overtime as needed. You will screen inquiries, assist with appointments, renewals, and insurance checks, and collaborate with the care team to

Qualifications

• EMR experience and/or aptitude to master EMR systems
• Experience booking, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments; verify patient eligibility
• Proficient in Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel for communication and scheduling

Responsibilities

• Screens all incoming patient inquiries to determine handling by the Patient Service Representative or routing
• Courteous, friendly, problem solver with customer service, patient-focused communication
• Resolves issues in patient satisfaction, flow, and procedural compliance; advocates for patients as needed
• Participates in resolving operational difficulties and communicates with supervisor regarding issues
• Resolves patient issues and ensures satisfaction; may refer to higher level staff for complex calls
• Initiates requests for forms, renewals, referrals, authorizations, and other admin needs
• Reviews and updates patient record information
• Develops and maintains effective communication with patient, care team, and providers
• Reviews department schedules to optimize clinic utilization
• Assists with data collection (e.g., no-show reports)
• Participates in problem solving and continuous improvement
• Participates in special projects and ongoing programs
• Other duties as assigned
