Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Part Time Patient Service Representative in Beverly, MA. The role handles patient inquiries, scheduling, and EMR-related tasks to support efficient patient flow and service quality.

The position offers a limited 21-hour weekly schedule (Mon 12:00–5:00, Tue–Fri 1:00–5:00, with possible overtime) and a training period onsite. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate information and high patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• 1+ years of customer service experience
• EMR experience or aptitude to master the EMR
• Proficient in Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
• Experience booking, rescheduling, and canceling appointments; verify patient eligibility
• Part-time schedule: Mon 12:00-5:00, Tue-Fri 1:00-5:00 with possible overtime

Responsibilities

• Screens incoming patient inquiries to determine appropriate routing
• Courteous, friendly, patient-focused communication
• Resolves issues related to patient satisfaction and flow
• Collaborates with supervisor on department issues
• Refer complex calls to higher level staff
• Request forms, renewals, referrals, prior authorizations as needed
• Update demographics and insurance information in patient records
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team and departments
• Monitor clinic schedules to optimize utilization
• Assist with data collection and productivity improvement
• Participate in projects and ongoing programs of the department
