Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Patient Financial Specialist for a full-time Day shift, 100% remote. The role focuses on timely and accurate collection of deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurances, and determining payor sources with support from Social Work and Outcomes Management.

You will interview patients, verify demographic and financial information under HIPAA, coordinate referrals to DHHS, and stay current with payor regulations to maximize appropriate reimbursement and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent OR Post High School Diploma.
• 3 years - Health Care Revenue Cycle Experience (such as Billing, Collections, and/or Customer Service)
• Bachelor's degree and 3 years experience in a service industry may be substituted for the above education/experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient and/or patient's representative to obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information.
• Monitors high dollar accounts to ensure complete and accurate information for timely submission and reimbursement.
• Coordinates referrals to the Department of Health and Human Services for applications and monitors timeliness of approvals.
• Maintains professional relationships with patients, payors, and clinical departments.
• Keeps updated on government and third-party payor regulations and explores payor source options.
