Job summary

Cedars-Sinai seeks a patient relations specialist within the Patient Financial Services team to identify, analyze, and resolve inquiries and issues related to patient accounts. You will work to ensure timely resolution, payment collection, and adherence to payor contracts in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong customer service, the ability to deescalate issues quickly, and proficiency with hospital billing systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate degree in business, finance, or health insurance preferred.
• At least 1 year of hospital or professional billing and/or collections experience with customer service and call center experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient relations support within Patient Financial Services, identifying, analyzing, resolving, and following up on inquiries and accounts to ensure payment and resolution.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Cedars-Sinai billing and collections policies and payor contracts; deescalate issues and maintain patient satisfaction.
• Monitor work queues, conduct necessary research, and route accounts for appropriate action or escalation.
• Negotiate and document payment plans within established policies; initiate collection calls as needed.
