Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Worcester, MA seeks an Associate Patient Service Specialist to join our team. The role focuses on patient intake, scheduling, and coordinating care while supporting a compliant, service-oriented environment.

You will handle demographic and insurance verification, EMR data entry, and routine communications with patients and providers. The position is full-time with standard hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, remote in Worcester with onsite equipment pickup and occasional on-site manager

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 1+ years of customer service experience in a clinical setting.
• 1+ years of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
• Ability to work full time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday with 8-hour shifts and possible overtime.
• Must live within commutable distance to Worcester, MA.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Verifies demographic, insurance and other patient information
• Addresses patient-care related telephone calls via an incoming work queue aligning with department metric
• Identifies problem related priorities, and responds to emergency needs by contacting/interrupting physician/provider within guidelines
• Provides patient education regarding managed care plans and referral process
• Completes and maintains patient schedules
• Schedules and coordinates patient visits, medical procedures for both inpatients and outpatients
• Communicate with patients regarding all information related to scheduled appointments
• Notifies providers, patients and others of changes such as new scheduling, re-scheduling, no-show, emergency appointments and add-ons
• Performs other duties as assigned
